Service Learning

“Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.” ~Chinese Proverb~

Our service learning projects are designed to promote student learning and development in animal welfare education. Students engage in activities that address the needs of animals in their community. Through these activities, students are provided an opportunity to:

1. make a difference in the lives of animals;
2. engage in responsible and challenging action for the benefit of animals in their community;
3. develop as leaders who take initiative, solve problems, work as a team, and demonstrate their abilities through helping animals in need;
4. grow as individuals, gain respect of peers, and increase civic participation

Project Ideas
We provide opportunities for individual students and entire classes to do service learning projects through our organization. Service learning project ideas include:

1. walking dogs from our rescue center
2. organizing fundraising activities
3. designing adoption campaigns
4. promoting spaying and neutering
5. classroom sponsorship of a dog or cat

If you or your school is interested in participating in a service learning project, please contact us at education@animalstaiwan.org. We hope that the experiences young people have through Animals Taiwan will have a long lasting and real impact on the way they think about and treat animals.
