Humane Education Mission

While rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing stray animals will always be an important part of what Animals Taiwan does, we do realize that this does not provide a solution to the problem. In order for the stray animal situation in Taiwan to improve, more must be done to educate the public about responsible pet ownership, spaying and neutering and the importance of treating all living things with compassion and respect.

Established in September 2008, the mission of the Humane Education Team is to promote animal welfare by providing quality, effective and interactive educational outreach workshops, with a focus on:

1. respect and compassion for all living things
2. responsible pet ownership
3. promoting the importance of spaying and neutering
4. promoting adoption rather than buying

In conjunction with national and local governments, community and school leaders, teachers, scholars and other animal welfare groups, it is also our goal to push for the incorporation of animal welfare education in the national school curriculum, promoting a life-long respect of and compassion for all living things.
