Rescue Story

Abigail the wire-trapped dog needs your help!

Abigail was seen by a volunteer and long time supporter of Animals Taiwanin a community area. She quickly stopped the car and was lucky enough to have a crate and dog food ready to catch her. The dog was in a lot of pain but seemed to realize that help was on the way. On top of the serious injury and infection, Abigail was extremely malnourished and severely anemic.

Her front leg has now been amputated and is at a foster home for recovery and rehabilitation. Abigail is still very shy, but she is a fighter and is recovering well. After all the pain she has been through, we hope she will find true happiness in a home that she truly deserves.

Abigail’s medical bill came out to a total of NT$36,900 (as shown in photo). Her medical bill is for her amputation, blood tests and her stay at the vet.

If you are willing to help cover Abigail’s medical bill, you can make a donation in the following ways and email treasurer@animalstaiwan.org to specify your donation for Abigail. Thank you for supporting Abigail and for helping us continue to save other stray animals like her.

Danica's Rescue Story

While going to feed two puppies in her neighbourhood, a volunteer noticed two puppies by the side of the road. She stopped immediately and tried to catch them. She caught one, Danica. The other rushed off into the bushes.

Danica was rushed to the vets as she had terrible skin problems, was dehydrated and her eyes were closed up due to mucus.

On inspection at the vet's it was noticed she had 4 large bit marks on her rear end. Two of the puncture wounds were infected and found to be full of maggots. Her rear end was also full of pus due to infection.

She has received a jab to help with the infection and all her wounds have been washed. She has also received treatment to help with her skin condition.

All she needs is love and attention to recover and become a beautiful little girl. Please open your heart and home to this little girl and she will be eternally grateful.
