Dear AT volunteers,
Happy New Year to all of you!
There has been a lot of activity at Animals Taiwan during the past two months! The most significant event has been AT founder Sean McCormack’s decision to step down as Director of Animals Taiwan. After devoting a huge amount of his time and energy to AT during the past three years, Sean decided that he needed to take a break, do some traveling and see some other parts of the world. This month, Sean takes off for beautiful Guatemala, where he plans to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary and see some of the beautiful animals and nature which that country has to offer.

Sean has been such an important and central figure at Animals Taiwan. Those of you who know Sean know how passionate and committed he is to animal welfare. His departure will be an adjustment for everyone and his presence will be deeply missed. We hope he will come back soon!

In the meantime, AT is very lucky to have some great staff and volunteers who are deeply committed to this organization. They have pulled their resources together and are doing a great job of keeping things running smoothly. During the past few months we have hired two new staff members, are inches away from completing our application to become a registered charity (and have had a number of successful adoptions and rescues.

Everyone at AT is optimistic that this will be an exciting year for AT with lots of news developments and changes.
