Sponsorship
About one year ago, an AT volunteer named Yael started up a Sponsorship
program at AnimalsTaiwan. Through the Sponsorship program people who
are unable to adopt a dog or cat from AT, but would like to help out
nonetheless, pay a monthly fee to support an animal.
Yael did a great job of launching the program but has since moved back
to the U.S. Several months ago a volunteer named Mayumi Hu replaced
Yael as the Sponsorship program coordinator. Mayumi has done a
fantastic job of developing the program. At the moment, we have
approximately 40 animals being sponsored.
Becoming an AT sponsor involves paying all expenses for a dog or cat
who is currently living at the facility. There is no mess to
clean up and you do not have to spend time taking them on walks, unless
you want to. Your money is used towards “your” dog
or cat’s food, medical fees, and shelter. Almost as
important, your support other projects. To date, sponsors have
contributed towards building a fenced in area for all of our dogs,
building a cattery for current and future cat rescues, adding fencing
to the roof-top for the safety and well-being of all dogs, paying
general expenses for maintenance of our facility, funding rescues and
CNR programs, and much more.

Letter
from Charlie's sponsor
My name is Xiao Wen. This past summer I
was watching ET Today and saw a
report about Animals Taiwan. It impressed me so much that I immediately
checked their website and learned a lot more about this kind and
bighearted organization. It’s always been a dream of mine to
do more for animals, so I contacted AT and asked about sponsoring one
of their dogs.
Charley is the one I decided to help because Rita (one
of the main people at AT’s animal shelter) told me that
he’s getting old and may not have much time. It only costs
500 NT a month to sponsor an animal and each month I get a handmade
card with Charley’s info and pictures. Lately, I’ve
been to see Charley! I gave him a big hug and told him I loved him. One
thing about AT that really surprised me was that the food they serve
the pups is fresh meat and bones, rather than canned or dry dog food!
It seems this is a much healthier diet and eliminates most of the
chronic ailments dogs seem to get. The workers there know every pooch
so well; I’ve been very touched by their caring and giving.
They really could use your help and you’ll be greeted by a
lot of wagging tails and wet kisses if you drop by!

我很訝異看到AT用真肉和骨頭餵小狗，而不是罐頭食物或乾食! 這看起來健康多了，而且也可以預防一些狗的慢性病。 工作人員對每隻動物都很了解。

from Sponsors of Posh & Spencer
Dear friends,
It was through circumstance that my husband Elliot and I got involved
in AnimalsTaiwan. Since joining the organization, we’ve
decided to donate a reasonable portion of our income to sponsor two
adorable dogs: Posh and Spencer. We believe that by cutting
down a trip to an expensive restaurant each month, a donation of NT500
can be committed to sponsor a dog. To us, this is well worth
the effort.
This past weekend we arrived at the AnimalsTaiwan facility in
Shilin. It was the first time for us to walk Posh and Spencer
at the park across the street. Once we reached the park, they
laid blissfully on the grass patches, gnawing at the bones Rita had
provided. Their expressions were beyond content!
Taiwan currently has numerous cases of abandoned dogs or cats, and it’s
very fortunate to know that there are volunteers who do all they can in
taking care of these animals. Elliot and I live in a place
where pets are not allowed, so we know we can at least offer a token of
assistance through sponsorship. I hope that many of you can
join us in helping these strays. Thank you!

Posh
和Spencer的助養人來信
Dear friends,
一次有緣的機會下認識了動物台灣，我跟我先生決定用自己可供的經濟能力下認養了兩隻可愛的狗狗，
一隻叫Posh而另一隻的名字是Spencer。其實每個
月少吃一頓大餐就可以用台幣500元認養一隻狗狗或貓咪，我們覺得真的很值得。
這個周末我們來到了他們在士林區的收容所，這是第一次來帶我們所認養的狗狗去對面的大公園散步。
他們躺在草地上開心地咬著志工Rita所準備的潔牙骨，感
覺好滿足喔！
台灣目前有這麼多被棄養的狗狗跟貓咪，卻有這些志工願意盡心盡力地照顧他們，由於家裡沒辦法養動
物，所以我們只是用自己微薄的能力幫助他們。我希望有更多
的朋友可以加入我們來一起幫助他們，謝謝！
