	Volunteering (擔任志工)


	As most of you know, AnimalsTaiwan is a volunteer-run organization. We are dependant on volunteers for everything we have and everything we do. Volunteers founded AT and volunteers continue to be what keeps us going and growing everyday. Thanks in great part to our wonderful AT coordinator Tracey, and more recently, our Administrative Coordinator Yael, AT has seen a huge growth in the number of its volunteers. As we grow and become more organized, we are branching out into committees, finding more interesting things for our volunteers to do and even organizing volunteer training workshops. Volunteer organizations don't always offer that much variety in terms of what you can do to help. However, at AT, there is no limit to what you can do to help us and the animals of Taiwan. No matter what your interests and skills may be, there is always something you can do at AnimalsTaiwan!


	大家都應該知道，AnimalsTaiwan是個依靠志工運作的組織。我們所有、所做，全都是依賴志工。志工創立AT，也是持續讓我們這組織成長與茁壯。感謝Tracey這位對我們來說極為重要的志工，為我們付出極大貢獻。還有最近負責行政協調的Yael，AnimalsTaiwan因為志工們有顯而易見的成長。同時，隨著我們的茁壯與更有組織，我們將成立不同的委員會分工合作，以讓志工參與起來更有趣，也更能讓志工的工作小組更組織化。雖然像我們這樣志工組織，可能沒辦法想像你們可以付出有多麼多。然而，你可以做任何你願意貢獻的事情。不管你的興趣為何，你的特殊才能是什麼，在AnimalsTaiwan，一定有你能幫上忙的地方。

	The following are some of the areas in which volunteers are needed. Please have a look and see if anything catches your eye!


	以下是我們稍微區分的一些工作領域，請看一看是否有什麼比較吸引你的！


	* 到收容所幫忙


	* HELPING OUT AT FACILITY


	Right now, AT really needs more help at the facility! We have a number of dedicated volunteers who come to facility on a regular basis to walk dogs, clean up, and help fix things. The facility is doing great and has undergone a lot of improvement and changes over the summer. However, there is still a lot that needs to be done. In addition to dog walking and cleaning, there is a lot of organizing that needs to be done in the office and the merchandise room to make things neater and more efficient. We especially need volunteers who are able to come during the week. Obviously, most people have free time on Saturdays and Sundays, and this is when we see most of our volunteers coming to the facility. People usually tend to come to the facility in the daytime but, if you work in the daytime during the week and would like to come in the evening during the week to walk the dogs, we (and the dogs) would be thrilled! 	現在AT真的需要更多人手來收容所幫忙!我們有幾位志工會固定來收容所幫忙溜狗、清洗或者修理一些東西，所以收容所現在比一開始改善也改變很多。但是，還是還有很多事情需要完成.除了溜狗與清潔之外，辦公室跟倉庫都需要進一步的清潔整理讓工作更有效率。我們尤其需要週一到週五能夠來幫忙的志工, 因為大部分的人都是週末比較有空，這也是我們最常在收容所看到志工的時間。此外，大部分的人都是白天來幫忙，但如果你白天有工作，想要傍晚來，例如來幫忙溜狗，我們（和所有的狗狗）都會感到非常興奮！所以，如果你有些時間可以來幫忙，請和我們聯絡。英文志工請聯絡，中文志工請聯絡。


	* BECOME PART OF OUR ADOPTIONS TEAM

	自從我們的領養檔案與網站更新後，我們的領養率大幅提昇，這實在是個好消息! 我們必須確認我們的狗狗到一個很棒、充滿愛的家，所以，我們很需要有人代替動物台灣去拜訪這些潛在的家庭與領養者。最簡單的拜訪就是到這些家庭去確認空間大小是否適合他們有興趣的狗狗，也可以透過一些非正式的聊天進一步的瞭解他們，例如問一些有關動物照顧的問題，像是他們一天會把狗狗單獨留在家裡多久？他們之前的狗狗怎麼了（如果可以問的話），他們為什麼要養狗之類的。我們不會要你到很遠的地方去拜訪，一定是你家公司、或學校附近的地點。我們急需要你的幫忙，請與聯絡。


	Since our adoption profiles have been updated and our website has been re-done, our adoption rate has suddenly improved. This is great news! We have to ensure that all our dogs go to a good, loving home so we are urgently looking for people who can help by doing visits to the homes of potential adopters on behalf of AT. This simply entails visiting the potential adopter's home to ensure it is suitable for the size of dog they are interested in, plus having an informal chat with them to get to know them a little better, asking questions about animal care i.e. How long will the dog be left by itself during the day? What happened to their previous dog (if applicable)? Why do they want a dog? Etc. We won't ask you to travel great distances to visit a home - just homes near where you live, work or study. We urgently need your help with this, so please do contact if you would like to help.

The Administrative Team does so many things it would be impossible to list them all here. However, here are just a few of the things they take care of:

	* HELPING AT EVENTS

	Events like the ones we hold at the Yang Ming Veterinarian Clinic and Mitsukoshi (see "Events" for details) are very important to AT. Not only do they provide us with a steady source of funds through donations and merchandise sales, they also help us to get our animals adopted and allow us to raise our public profile. Helping out at an event consists of such things as helping to set up the table and display materials, selling merchandise, handing out flyers and other information to the public, talking to the public about AT, encouraging people to foster or adopt an animal and getting donations. Helping at events can be lots of fun and gives volunteers the chance to socialize other AT volunteers. If you are interested in helping at events out please contact or .

	It would be impossible for us to thank all of the volunteers who have helped us this summer. Here are just a few people we would like to extend a special thank you to: Tracey, Rita, Fiona, Tom, Stella, Alison, Peggy and Elisa who recently came to the facility to take new pictures of all of our dogs. These pictures were desperately needed as some of the puppies you see on our website are now full-grown and don't look anything like their photos. The pictures look great and you should see these up on the website soon. Ching Hai (www.loveocean.org) for building our fence! AT now had a fenced in area outdoors where the dogs can play and get exercise. This was a huge undertaking and we are very grateful to Ching Hai for this. Tong Hsing Integrated Co., Ltd. (the company of AT volunteer Monica's father), for supplying materials and laying concrete for the dog's fenced in area.

	Joyce Chow, who was one of the original members of AT, has left Taiwan and moved backed to Canada. We miss Joyce and wish her the best of luck! Saha, one of our favorite volunteers, has just left for France! Bon Voyage Saha! Good luck to Sprite and Leo as they have left Taiwan to do masters in Newcastle, UK!
