Volunteering
(擔任志工)

   AnimalsTaiwan (AT) is a volunteer-run organization. Volunteers are what make this organization possible. Without them we really would not exist and would not be able to do ANY of the things we do. So, when we say we need you, you can rest assured that we really mean it!
   Many people have expressed an interest in volunteering with AT but may not be exactly sure what it is they want to do. There are many ways to volunteer .
   One great way is of course to volunteer for one of the regular events. However, there are other ways. You can join one of our teams.
   As a member of an AT team, you can find something that you enjoy doing and focus on that. You can devote a small or a large amount of your time and skills to helping AT in a way that you find interesting.

   AnimalsTaiwan是個透過志工運作的組織，也是志工讓這個組織得以存在。若是少了志工，恐怕我們不會存在，也不能夠完成任何一項我們目前所做的事情。所以，當我們提到需要你的時候，這表示我們確實需要你！
  許多人已經表示希望能夠擔任AnimalsTaiwan志工，但是不大確定能夠做哪些事，其實志工能夠提供我們多種不同的協助。
   其中一項協助就是實際參與以下提到的任何一項活動，或者是加入我們的工作團隊。
一旦成為我們的一員，你只需要付出一點點或許多的時間、或者是提供你的專業能力，選擇你有興趣的事務來支持 AnimalsTaiwan。

   也許大家已經認識動物台灣的志工組組長Tracey Hewison，兩個月前Tracey開始擔任動物台灣的志工，並充分發揮自己豐富的經驗和組織能力，使動物台灣獲益不少。可惜在八月後她即將和家人搬離台灣，到中東的都拜。對此我們都深感遺憾。
   Tracey現在正在積極找尋可以帶領一起熟悉組織運作的人，以便在她離台之後接手這項職務。她負責的工作內容包容萬象，有時對一個人來說稍嫌繁重，所以她將所有內容分門別類，並一手建立「行政團隊」。如果你的組織能力過人，也願意和其他人才並肩為動物台灣貢獻一己之力，請閱讀以下注意事項：
   身為行政團隊的一員，你可選擇負責以下任一項內容：
* 資料庫管理
* 回應民眾詢問 (以電話或email方式)
* 管理會議 (出席會議並計時)

    Many of you may have already met AT's wonderful volunteer coordinator Tracey Hewison. Since becoming a volunteer with AT only a few short months ago, Tracey has used her experience and skills to help AT in more ways than can be mentioned here. Unfortunately, Tracey and her family will be leaving Taipei in August to move to Dubai. Needless to say, we are very sad to see Tracey go.
    Tracey is now on the hunt for people that would like to work alongside her while she is still here and take over from her when she leaves. Tracey does many different things - too many for one person to do! So she has structured what she does into different "areas" and created an Administration Team.
    If you enjoy administration and are an organized person, familiar with MS Office (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook in particular) and would like to work with other organized individuals to keep AT running smoothly, or want to take on the volunteer co-ordination role then contact Tracey to find out more, or simply email volunteer@animalstaiwan.org

   The primary goal of the Publicity Team is to raise public awareness of AT and of animal welfare  issues in general.
   The Publicity Team is looking for people who enjoy writing, translating, graphic design, web design, and anyone with an interest in helping animals. You don't need Publicity experience to join the Publicity Team!  Also, if you have no Publicity experience but would like to gain some, this is a great way to learn some new skills in this area.
   Everyone is welcome and everyone can help!
   Here are some of the things the Publicity Team does:

• Writes for volunteer newsletter (which you are reading now!)
  
• Updates website
  
• Writes publicity materials including press   releases, sponsorship agreements & other forms of literature
  
• Promotes adoption/fostering of our animals including writing and distributing posters
  
• Photographs animals for adoption posters
  
• Networks with other animal welfare groups
  
• Translates written materials
  
• Maintains media database & liaisons with the media
  

   宣傳團隊的主要目標在於提高AnimalsTaiwan的知名度、以及告知大眾有關動物福利相關的課題。
   宣傳團隊需要喜歡寫作、翻譯、圖像設計、網頁設計、以及熱愛幫助動物的伙伴們。你不需要有宣傳相關經驗，也可以參與本團隊！相反地，若你沒有相關經驗，參與我們的團隊將會是個很好的學習機會。
   我們歡迎每個人，因為每個人都能夠幫忙！
   以下列出幾項宣傳團隊所做的事情：
* 撰寫志工電子報（也就是目前你正在讀的文字）
* 更新網站
* 撰寫媒體新聞稿
* 聯繫媒體
* 推廣我們的動物認養
* 與其他動物服務團體進行接洽
* 翻譯書面文件
* 維護媒體名單
* 為認養的動物拍照
* 散發宣傳單、海報

   你喜歡籌備派對嗎？你對籌募基金有許多獨特有趣的想法？如果是的話，你可以考慮加入積極籌募活動組。身為該組組員，你可以和公關組密切合作，共同進行活動的組織和宣傳工作。目前，本團隊正在籌備一場藝術展覽和曲棍球賽，我們也歡迎任何其他新鮮有趣的點子！

   Do you enjoy planning parties? Maybe you like coming up with unique, fun and creative ways to do fundraising? If so, then you should think about joining the Fundraising Team. As a member of this team, you will work closely with the Publicity and Events Team to organize and promote events.
   At the moment, the team is organizing an art show, a 'read-a-thon' for school children and a sponsored 'Strut Your Mut' walk. There is no limit to the kinds of events you can plan! If this sounds interesting to you or you would like to find out more, please contact Maureen Kealy or Carolyn Wong.

   Organizing events can be a lot of fun, especially when you are part of a great team!  As a member of the Event Planning Team, you will work with other volunteers to coordinate events.
   Here are just a few of the things the Event Planning Team does:

• Finds volunteers to table events
  
• Organizes and create display materials (logos, posters, banners, ….)
  
• Works with Publicity Committee to publicize events
  
• Thinks of new and exciting kinds of events
  
• Finds sponsorship for events
  
• Ensures that the event runs smoothly and all details are taken care of
  

   企劃活動可以是很有趣的，尤其是當你是一個超級團隊中的一員。做為一個活動企劃團隊成員，你將與其他的志工一同安排活動。以下列出幾項活動企劃團隊所做的事情：
* 尋找攤位義賣活動的志工
* 規劃與製作展示用品（如Logo、宣傳單、橫軸掛飾等）
* 與宣傳團隊一起進行活動宣傳
* 思考新的、有趣的活動型式
* 確認活動規劃細節
