The owner of Doggie House has offered AT an amazing opportunity to hold an adoption event every weekend at their shops in Neihu & Tien Mu!! The Neihu event has already started and although we have volunteers that are willing to help once per month, we do need extra on stand-by if anyone drops out. More importantly, we need volunteers that can help at the Tien Mu store which is located opposite Takashimaya. Every weekend we will need about three to four volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering and can commit to one regular Saturday afternoon then please get in touch with Tracey--today!
On the last Sunday of each month, AT has a table at the Taipei Main Train Station. This is a great location for us and is proving to be a good money raiser as sales of our fantastic merchandise are improving each month. Volunteers at Taipei Main Station are involved in selling merchandise, handing out pamphlets, taking care of the animals we have on site plus provide information to the public. There may also be future opportunities for us to hold this event more regularly but this will depend on whether we have sufficient volunteers to help. Anyone interested in volunteering for the Taipei Main Station event should contact Liza.
On the third Saturday of every month, AT also has a table at the TESCO store in Xindian. This event is similar to the Taipei Main Station event although a little quieter as it is a relatively new store, but this is set to change as it becomes more well known. It is another great location to raise funds and increase public awareness. If you live in the area or don't mind traveling there then email Beki who is the organizer of this event.
AT volunteers get together to bake dog cookies on a regular basis. This is a great way to get to know your fellow AT volunteers and help out at the same time! The cookies are sold at events and at various locations around the city. This is an important source of revenue for AT! Generally it is the third weekend of each month. On the Saturday the cookies are baked and then they are packed and labeled on the Sunday. Don't worry if you aren't any good at baking as it won't matter. Our master baker Vickie prepares all the dough in advance and all that then has to be done is for the dough to be made into cookies using cookie cutters, laid on baking trays and then put into the oven. Easy as that! Interested in becoming part of this team then contact Vickie.
