Membership Qualifications

Any individual over the age of 20 with a valid ARC or National ID in Taiwan is eligible to be a member of AnimalsTaiwan. 

Memberships may fall under these two general categories:

  1. Individual Members: Any individual age 20 and above, having a sincere interest in and identifying with AnimalsTaiwan's objectives.

  2. Group Members: Any private or state institution or organization, having a sincere interest in and identifying with AnimalsTaiwan's objectives.

Rights and Privileges of Member

Once approved as a member, you may take part in reviewing or rejecting applicable legislations and policies so to preserve the integrity and mission of AnimalsTaiwan. More specifically, you shall have the following rights:

  1. To define and amend Articles provisions.
  2. To elect Directors and Supervisors to office or institute their recall from office.
  3. To deliberate and decide on the amount and collection procedure for the entrance membership fees, annual membership fees, service charges and fees, and membership donations.
  4. To deliberate and decide on annual work programs, reports, budget, and accounting matters.
  5. To deliberate and decide on the removal of member or member representative name from the membership roster.
  6. To deliberate and resolve on the disposition of TAA assets and properties.
  7. To deliberate and decide on the dissolution of the TAA.
  8. To deliberate and decide on significant matters concerning membership rights and obligations.

Board of Directors

Nine members shall be elected by the members to serve as AnimalsTaiwan's Board of Directors. The position of Director is an unpaid position with a term of two years. The Board of Directors shall separately define the hierarchy of office and the duties and authorities of staff members. The Board of Directors may also nominate and elect an Honorary Chairperson of the Board and any number of Honorary Directors and consultants.
The following are the responsibilities of the Directors:

  1. To evaluate member (member representative) qualifications.
  2. To elect or recall the Standing Directors and Chairperson of the Board.
  3. To deliberate and decide on the resignations of Directors, Standing Directors and the Chairperson of the Board.
  4. To deliberate and decide on the employment and dismissal of staff workers.
  5. To define the annual work schedule, report of operations, budget schedule, and accounting matters.
  6. To attend to all other matters for implementation.
Directors shall elect three Standing Directors to the Board from among themselves; thereafter, from the elected Standing Directors, elect the Chairperson of the Board. The Chairperson of the Board sees to the management and supervision of AnimalsTaiwan affairs and the Secretary General, and serves as the official representative of the AnimalsTaiwan.

Board of Supervisors

Three members shall be elected by the members to serve as AnimalsTaiwan's Board of Supervisors. The position of Supervisor is an unpaid position with a term of two years.
The following are the responsibilities of the Supervisors:

  1. To supervise the Board of Directors in the execution of their duties.
  2. To audit the annual financial report.
  3. To elect and recall Standing Supervisors.
  4. To deliberate and decide on the on the resignations of Supervisors and Standing Supervisors.
  5. To attend to all other supervisory matters.
Supervisors shall elect one Standing Supervisor to the Board from among themselves to inspect and supervise the daily operations of AnimalsTaiwan and from among themselves shall elect one person to serve as Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors.

How to Apply

To apply as a member, you will need to submit a copy of your identification, a completed membership application, and a membership fee.  Membership dues for both individual members as well as group members consist of a one-time entry fee of NT$500, plus an annual fee NT$500.

Here are five simple steps on how you can apply as a member:

  1. Read over the Articles of Incorporation. Please send any questions you may have to:

  2. Make a copy of your official identification: a valid ARC or your national ID.

  3. Complete and sign the appropriate membership form (Individual or Group).Return the application form and the copy of your ID in any of the following methods:

  4. Submit the membership fee of NT$1,000 for first time members.  To do so, you may use ATM transfer to the following bank account:

  5. Notify Alice ( ) of the last four digits of your bank account number once you have transferred the dues.  Alice will send a confirmation mail to inform you whether your fees were received accordingly.

AnimalsTaiwan will notify you via email when all application-related materials are considered adequate and complete.  Otherwise, we will contact you for additional information.
