In case you are wondering why I'm called Nanook, it is because it means "Polar Bear" in Inuit! According to some of the people that rescued me, I look like a smaller version of the Polar Bear! Before I came to Animals Taiwan, I lived in Taipei on my own. During that time, one of my legs was injured and became badly infected and swelled to double its size! Eventually, someone spotted me and asked Animals Taiwan to rescue me. Unfortunately, the infection was so serious that the vet had to amputate my leg. Initially, I didn't trust anyone, and tried really hard to run away. However, once I got to the rescue center, I quickly made friends with some of the other dogs and the nice staff. I might be a big dog, but I am super affectionate and friendly! Having three legs does not affect me at all! I can still run and play like other "normal" dogs. Will you come visit me?
